Today's canvas is a special dedication to a brave little boy that graced this earth only a year ago today. Colton Kenneth Miller was born November 11th 2009, with a condition called Hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS). HLHS is a rare heart defect in which the left side of the heart is severely underdeveloped. The aorta and left ventricle are too small, and the holes in the artery and septum did not properly close. But even with these severe odds against him, little Colton fought the fight of his life for 29 days. His strength and perseverance is a reminder to us all to treasure every single day, to live every single moment, and to take great appreciation in all of the people in our lives and all life has to offer.
