365 days of aRt. DAY ONE HUNDRED & SIXTY-THREE.
be content with self
all the while working toward
the silent comfort
of surrender
and inner understanding
know that the most beautiful
thing in the world
is only a mirror
of part of your own beauty

Blog about the piece: There is a passage in Herman Hesse's SIDDHARTHA that reads, "You are like me; you are different from other people. Within you there is a stillness and sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself, just as I can. Few people have that capacity and yet everyone could have it." Silent comfort, surrender, and inner understanding -- this is what everyone could have. It's the inner stillness and the sanctuary that's up for the taking.
