365 dAys of aRt. DAY EIGHTEEN.

i'm here to remind
those that find themselves
lost in chaotic confines
of society's headlines
i'm the headlight
before the impact
before the reaction of the action
i'm abstractly thinking
and moving mountains
in this city
i'm white luther
preaching to the youth
protesting newscasts that cross my path
trying to zoom in on what's driving me
love is driving me to the limits
i'm speeding off that cliff
dropping dimensions
before you even lift your head to catch a glimpse
and i never hit the ground
rock bottom is thought up
and i am thought of as all kinds of shit
with no backbone or structure or fit
but i live these words from my soul
and if you're out there and you understand, let me know
and i'll share this beauty of believing
in the unseen
the unknown
the ever-flowing stream of dreams
that unites the you and me
you see, adam and eve
the biblical story
is metaphoric
for this energy we can't see
that makes us all one combined entity.

It is so easy to get lost in the chaos -- in the stream of EVERYTHING that's going on in and around us. We often have extreme schedules to stick to, tedious acts to perform, and random obstacles to overcome on a daily basis. Sometimes we lose track of our passions and the bigger picture. Sometimes we disconnect ourselves from the society that we are a part of. Last night I watched a film called MOTHERHOOD with Uma Thurman as the lead. It was about a woman that got lost in the chaos of her own life, so much to the point that she forgot what passion really was. At the end of the movie, Thurman says, "Life is about accepting the limitations of time and energy which stretch beyond you. Search for and hold onto your own true self -- to lose that, what kind of person can you be? Things are always changing no matter how much you might want things to stay the same. So, seize your days and dwell in them fully. Look to the children because they know how to inhabit brief periods of time with extreme passion (and for nothing more really then for the sake of those moments). The children can help you remember that, if you only slow down and let them. Feel fortunate, because chances are good that you actually may be." Brief connections like this, even if it may come from a film, remind us that all the chaotic and in-between moments are worth it.
