365 dAys of aRt. DAY SEVENTEEN.

let us be like the water of river
deep and ever-flowing
nourishing the land and animals
peaceful and strong
quiet and harmonious
dancing through the landscape in a most present way
sometimes clear
sometimes murky
always aware of what's underneath the surface
life-giving and beautiful

Here's our interpretation of our own words. Long, but worthy of reading (at least we think so).
(1) Let us be like the water of river, deep and ever-flowing. TRANSLATION: How important is it to continue educating ourselves, to continue challenging ourselves -- to grow and change and modify with the passing of time?
(2) Let us be like the water of river, nourishing the land and animals. TRANSLATION: Take a step forward, environmentally. Did you know that on average, YOU create 4.5 lbs. of trash every day. Over the course of your life, that will total six hundred times your average weight -- in garbage! Broken down, your torso would be paper. One leg would be yard trimmings, the other food scraps. One arm would be plastic with a rubber hand. The other would be metal with a wood hand. Your head would be glass, your neck would be all the other stuff. In the end, we will EACH leave a ninety-thousand-pound legacy of trash for our grandchildren. (the green book) Do yourself a favor and check out the documentary NO IMPACT MAN.
(3) Let us be like the water of river, peaceful and strong, quiet and harmonious. TRANSLATION: Are your words in harmony with your actions?
(4) Let us be like the water of river, dancing through the landscape in a most present way. TRANSLATION: Simply, being present, everyday. But to be more specific, have you ever had that moment while dancing, when you're completely present and the music moves you in a goosebump-kind of way? The bass -- feeling as if it's pulsating through your veins like the heartbeat keeping you alive. Stop and listen to the music.
(5) Let us be like the water of river, sometimes clear, sometimes murky. TRANSLATION: A good artist let's her intuition lead her wherever IT wants.
(6) Let us be like the water of river, always aware of what's underneath the surface. TRANSLATION: Have you ever lost yourself along the way -- maybe in a relationship, or a career?
(7) Let us be like the water of river, life-giving and beautiful. TRANSLATION: Have you ever tried to give without any attachment to the giving? Have you ever experienced a random act of kindness? SHARE WITH US..
