365 days of aRt. DAY EIGHTY-EIGHT.

an artist with intent
she leaves her heart on the cement
it rains and winds of change remind her
faith makes life content
and with the storm is born a man
with hands to help her stand alone
the love begins to deepen
a connection etched in stone
and they grow, a soul united
confiding secrets to the sun
making moments that define them
separate pieces joined as one

Blog about the piece:
This piece is a reflection of the time in my life when I walked my first labyrinth. I was at a crossroads, so to speak -- at a time when I needed to determine the next step, which way to turn, and the direction in which my life should take. As meditation I walked the labyrinth. I had a question that needed an answer, and I was told that this unobstructed, clearly marked path was going to give it to me. The labyrinth twisted and turned as I winded my way to it's center. There were no illusions, tricks, nor dead ends; my path was in clear view. And, by the time I exited the labyrinth I had my answer. Some have said that walking the labyrinth is a metaphor for taking a pilgrimage -- traveling to a destination of spiritual teaching and then going back home. Do yourself a favor and experience the walk. You can find labyrinths at parks, medical centers, and even hospitals. Locate your local labyrinth at labyrinthlocator.com.
