365 days of aRt. DAY ONE HUNDRED & SIXTY-SEVEN.

there's a river of passion
between heart and home
she's stuck there believing
her dreams are unknown.

Blog about the piece: Try telling your family about a song that made you cry. Attempt a conversation about a piece of art that moved your soul. Get emotional over a book that answered the deepest questions about your spirituality. Go home and engage yourself in a monologue about how art is the only thing that makes you happy. Some of you might achieve a blissful dialogue with your closest connections -- really feeling understood, motivated and inspired to continue your journey of following your passions in life. Others however might be met with one word answers, and conversational diversions (did you hear about the football game or that what's-their-name is getting married?). If you're one of those who travels a short distance to convey what matters most to you to those that matter most to you - then think of what it must feel like to be dismissed when you're trying to be heard. Even great parents, siblings and friends sometimes don't understand us at the level that we want.

What do we do then - when it feels like an insurmountable distance between these two points? Artists and creatives have been misunderstood for nearly all of modern society. That hasn't stopped them from doing what they felt like they were put on this earth to do. Quite often, this under appreciation has fueled passions even further and propelled artistic dreams to new heights. This plight can be nothing more than an inconvenient truth that you just have to accept. Understand yourself and what makes you willing to take each breath. You are the only one that needs to know what your dreams are. You chart your own course, through an endless river of passion.
