365 days of aRt. DAY NINETY-NINE.

daylight's breaking
just around the corner
she is lonely again
she's got darkness
heavy on her shoulders
she is dying to live

Blog about the piece:
In the midst of seasons changing, moving houses, switching majors, I have found myself overwhelmed not by the big things but the little ones. Of course it's the little things, right? They all seem to add up. You would think that while reading LIVING THE SIMPLE LIFE, the words of ELAINE ST. JAMES could have resonated with me. I would love to practice her simplifying techniques and find peace of mind and balance. But lately I have become scatterbrained and absent -- taking on too much at one time. The other day I walked up to the front door pressing my car key unlock pad, expecting the front door to unlock. Scatterbrained? Yes! Sometimes we need to step back and evaluate. We need to see the whole picture and recognize the places we need to simplify, and for goodness sake, we need to give ourselves a break! Don't let the day weigh heavy on your shoulders. Brush it off and begin again.
